Question about windows live messenger?windows firewall

That means that a person who has been added to your messenger has just logged in on a mobile device like a cell phone for instance...they can't block people on your account, they can't see who is online on your messenger, they can sign in while appearing to be offline.

Question about windows live messenger?microsoft frontpage internet explorer

Take a look here.
that contact has signed in using his/hers cell phone.

yes they can block someone....they can see who's online, they get the list with their contacts and can send you a message too. they can even sign in appearing offline...
"Signed in on a mobile device" means that they signed in using their cell phone or a similar device, and they can talk to you via msn from their cellphone. Some phone providers have a basic version of MSN/Windows Live Messenger that you can download through the companies games and applications browser on your phone, and it is basically the same process as downloading or playing a game, but instead of a game it is a special version of messenger.

To answer your further questions:

1. They can block people on their own account from their phone if they choose

2. They can see who is online and offline when they are signed into messenger on their phone

3. You cannot sign in as "Appear Offline" from a mobile device, but you can set your status to "Appear Offline" once you're in.

Hope I gave you everything you needed!!
