Windows live/msn messenger help?

I have got an account with hotmail which i use for windows live messenger. But i was wondering if i can use my normal email address instead ie.my ntl email address. Or is it just the USA who can do that?

yes you can use an e-mail address like a yahoo.co.uk or any e-mail address as long as you register it with msn windows live. just log on to the live website and register it. it only takes a few minutes and your ready to go! - did it not work then, is that why i got a thumbs down?

Yes you can
There are some older, grandfathered accounts that still are using a non-MSN email adresses I believe, but now you have to have a Live Passport.

However, if your ISP is partnered with MSN, you may be able to do it using an ISP address. For example, in Canada, you can use a Bell Sympatico address with MSN and a Rogers address with Yahoo for messenger services. It may be the same in your area. Check with your ISP.
