i've not been able to sign on to windows live messenger all day. it was working fine yesturday.
the error code is 80048820.
i did all of the trouble shooting steps, and still no luck. any suggestions?

I'm in the same boat. I haven't been able to get on msn all morning. I think Microsoft's chat servers are down (which shouldn't surprising if they run on Microsoft platforms).
You're just going to have to wait it out.
