when i log in , a box comes up saying " windows live messenger has encountered a problem and needs to close "

Any ideas on why this happens and how do I fix it .

maybe there's a problem with your one.

a virus etc.

if not try a virus scan.

it could be a virus or spywear.

forget windows live messenger, i had too many problems with it , now i just use yahoo messenger, less hassle. good luck
